OAK POINT is a Provincial Park and campsite. There is a sandy beach on the northern side of the point, protected from the prevailing southerly winds. The lee also makes a good anchorage, out of the wind and current.

Approaches. One of the unique light towers of the Saint John River sits on the point itself. Due to the topography of the west shore, Long Reach is exposed to northwesterlies between Cantons Island and Oak Point. The river current is strong here, particularly on the ebb, and opposing southerlies can make the waves stand tall.
