A beautiful farmhouse sits on Carters Point, on the eastern shore of Long Reach. Carters Cove and Mill Cove, two of the few coves on Long Reach, lie to either side of the point.

Despite their names, neither is much of a cove. Both are broad bights with protection only from the direction of the shore, and boulders are reported on the bottom of Mill Cove. Carters Cove, however, would make a pleasant daystop or fair-weather anchorage.

A wonderful photograph in Rags and Strings, the history of the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club, shows the yacht club fleet at anchor in Carters Cove during the annual cruise of 1912, with a stern-wheeled steamer docked at the wharf.
