AT the southwestern end of Long Island, just before North Channel meets Kennebecasis Bay, there is a sandy beach along a pristine shore. This makes a wonderful daystop, particularly in the afternoon when the beach gets the sun. Anchor off the beach, or drop a stern anchor and take a bow line ashore.

The anchorage offers very little protection, and the water is deep right up to the shore, so it isnt recommended as an overnight anchorage in anything but the fairest weather.
