McCORMACK COVE is large and beautiful, lying on the southwest side of Kennebecasis Island, near the northern end of Grand Bay. The inner end of the cove is divided into two smaller coves, each beautiful and unspoiled, with only occasional glimpses of the few houses ashore. Protection is good from all directions except the south, where it is wide open to fetch from across Grand Bay. In southerlies, seek protection to the north of Kennebecasis Island or in Brothers Cove to the south.

Approaches. The broad mouth of the cove is wide and clear, but two sunken log cribs lie about halfway in, shown as small squares on the chart. Beyond them the cove is divided by a small island. If you plan to anchor in the western portion, keep close to the western shore to avoid the cribs. The northeast portion can be reached by following the eastern shore and then following the 6-foot contour past the eastern crib. Or you can estimate the width of the cove and keep about a third of the way off the eastern shore to pass between the two cribs.

Anchorages, Moorings. Anchor anywhere in the northeastern end of the cove in a comfortable depth. In the western portion, anchor just inside the mouth before it shoals. Note the rocks just to the south of the small island.
