Saint John River overview chart



A HARBOR is formed behind a breakwater between the suburban towns of Ketepec and Belmont on the west shore of Grand Bay. The Saint John Marina, located in Ketepec, is one of the largest on the Saint John River.
Approaches. The northwest end of the breakwater is marked by flashing green spar “JK1.” Pass north of the spar, leaving it to port, and follow the buoyed channel to the marina. Note the rocks shown on the chart in the middle of the anchorage.

Anchorages, Moorings. The Saint John Marina has dockage with 8 feet of water available for visitors, or you can anchor inside the breakwater to the right of the buoyed approach channel in 10 to 12 feet of water.

For the Boat.

Saint John Marina (506-738-8484). This is a full-service facility. They pump gas and diesel and have water, electricity, pump-outs, and ice at the floats with 8 feet of water alongside. They haul boats with a crane and do engine, hull, rigging, and outboard repairs. Their store sells marine hardware and charts.

For the Crew. Showers and a pay phone are ashore, as well as a licensed restaurant and lounge.

Things to Do. The marina has a volleyball court for some great fun and exercise. Bus 25 runs to shopping centers nearby and into the city of Saint John. Cabs are also available.
