HEAD HARBOUR PASSAGE is the main approach to Eastport, Lubec, and Cobscook Bay. The entrance is at the northern end of Campobello Island, marked by East Quoddy Head Light, with its distinctive white tower and large red cross.

This deep and unobstructed passage follows the steep north shore of Campobello Island for about 4 miles until it meets Friar Roads and Western Passage south of Deer Island, a spot marked by the lighthouse on Cherry Island.
