INGALLS HEAD is a man-made harbor at the southeast corner of Grand Manan. It serves a substantial fishing fleet that unloads its catch here for processing in shoreside plants. The harbor provides excellent protection and has been dredged to depths of about 10 feet. The ferry to White Head Island leaves from here.

Approaches. From Seal Cove, follow the buoyed channel north of Wood Island. Leave the green bell off Ox Head to port, then head north for Ingalls, leaving the two green spar buoys to port. Watch for the sudden departure or arrival of the red ferry from White Head Island.

Anchorages, Moorings. The man-made harbor is heart-shaped, divided by a central pier. The southern section is more convenient because it has a float for landing. Tie up in any free space along the sides of the harbor or, preferably, alongside another boat. The finger piers in the northern section are used by Fundy Marine's boatlift.
