THOUGH somewhat exposed to south and southwest winds, Henry Cove is convenient to town and to the Winter Harbor Marina.

Approaches. Leave the nun marking the ledge off Sargents Point to starboard. Pass Inner Harbor and its entrance buoys, off to port, and run up the middle into Henry Cove.

Anchorages, Moorings. Winter Harbor Marine has a number of rental moorings and dockage is planned at their floats, on the eastern shore, with 6 to 8 feet alongside. The cove is exposed to the south and likely to be rolly.

For the Boat. Winter Harbor Marine (Ch. 09; 207-963-7449). Warren Pettegrow has transformed Winter Harbor Marine into an easy and convenient cruising destination. The floats, with 6 feet at low, have water, diesel and gas on tap as well as pump-out facilities and electricity. They haul with a hydraulic trailer and can handle most repairs, including outboards. The yard has ice and a small chandlery.

For the Crew. Winter Harbor Marine has showers and laundry facilities. They also run a shuttle service to Bar Harbor in their wooden lobsterboat in the morning and afternoona nice way to take in the town without taking in your boat. From WHM it is half a mile into the town of Winter Harbor (See Sand Cove).
