HULLS COVE is a couple of miles north of the bustle of Bar Harbor. Here the pace is slower and more peaceful, but the cove is exposed and offers little protection. A cluster of boats are moored off the small clubhouse of the Bar Harbor Yacht Club.

Approaches. From Bar Harbor, round the bell off Sheep Porcupine Island and run alongshore past the Cat ferry dock. The Bar Harbor Yacht Club is near Canoe Point, inside nun 4.

Anchorages, Moorings. The BHYC has a guest mooring, or you can anchor off in 24 feet at low. The location is quite exposed.

For the Boat. Bar Harbor Yacht Club (207-288-3275). This modest club has a guest mooring and water at the floats, with 12 feet alongside at low. The club has few other facilities, but the visiting yachtsman will find plenty of kindred spirits.

Bar Harbor Boating (207-288-5797). On the north side of Hulls Cove, Bar Harbor Boating has gas, water, and electricity at the floats, with 6 feet alongside at low. They have a marine railway and can handle hull repairs.

For the Crew. Hulls Cove Village, about .7 mile away to the north, has a restaurant and fish market. The General Store sells groceries, beer, and ice and has a fresh fruit and vegetable stand.
