WHEN Great Chief Glooscap, with a mere wave of his hand, changed a deer and a moose and the pack of wolves on their heels into islands, he granted Deer and Moose Island eternal safety in the protected embrace of Passamaquoddy Bay, But he doomed the wolves to be outcasts forever. And so they are—a small pack of islands, huddling together in the broad expanse of the Bay of Fundy.

Southern Wolf has a prominent light (Fl 10s 38.7m 15M) at its western end. Eastern End Cove, a small bight on the northeast end of Eastern Wolf Island provides a lee in normal southwest winds but is totally exposed in anything else. It would make an uncomfortable overnight anchorage despite one or two heavy moorings that may be unoccupied. The moorings, though, make Eastern Wolf a convenient daystop.

The safest approach is from the northeast. Note the rock, due north of the cove, which is exposed at low. You can land and explore the island, where there are a few fishermen’s cottages.
