I certainly disagree with Maine Moorings previous attemts at mooring locations. There was no need for a mooring at Harbor Island off of Stonington (good holding ground). This summer however, I spent the better part of an hour trying to help a guy retreive his hook that was jammed in the rocks at Duck Harbor. I was waiting for him to move so I could get in (very small) while I waited I grabbed the Maine Moorings ball. The location is just outside the harbor and not taking up any precious space. After witnessing this anchor debacle, and hearing a ton of horror stories about Duck Harbor, and not having a cell phone to call Maine Moorings and organize a payment we decided to move on. I don't have a problem with the Duck Harbor mooring at all. Next time I visit there I may use it. It seems to me he is now placing moorings in locations where the bottom is no good for anchoring anyway..........
