Tom Young Posts: 97 Location: Rockport Maine Registered: February 2005	Who doesn't love Pulpit Harbor? Fri, 25 February 2005 15:14 It's nearly a cliche' for sailors passing through Penobscot Bay. But we never tire of spending a night in the placid waters inside. Despite it being one of if not the most popular anchorage for miles in either direction, we have never had a problem finding room to anchor here even coming in at night. In the off season we will often "borrow" a mooring as someone will be on the boat at all times and few are being used except in season. In season, we prefer to anchor away from the moorings. The view of the sunset is nicer and it's alittle more private. Holding is good, protection superb and a schooner or two is likely to be nearby in the outer anchorage. Shore access is easy at the public landing beach area by the bridge or all the way in at another public dock.
