I have just happened upon your article about operating your boat through the lobster bouys on the coast of Maine and I must say I am a little taken back at the lack of RESPECT for fishermen that this article has. The answer is not to put spurs on your expensive boats. The answer, if you must travel in the waters off the coast of Maine for no particular reason other than to site see, is too take some of your rusty money out of your tight ass pockets and invest in a cage for your wheels. Better yet, why don't you people just pay attention for once where your auto pilot is set and you won't be in your little predicaments.
If you can't tell I am a lobsterfisherman. I work in some pretty extreme conditions to provide a honest living for my family. Just incase you were wondering, those lobster traps you are cutting off while you are sipping your martinis, cost anywhere from $50-$80 each thats not including the rope and bouys. That might not be alot of money to you people but to those of us that call Maine home it is. Remember were you come from it may just be a scenic waterway, but here it is a way of life!
