The newest edition of chart 13292 shows this area in more detail. Note the northward extension of the ledge marked by green daymark "3" well beyond the daymark itself. It is hard to tell whether the ledge in question is marked by the 6' contour line or if it is an isolated spire of this ledge that was not picked up in the soundings. In either case, beware in this area.

I believe the day-charter Alden schooner Bagheera also hit this ledge several years ago.
