Sad to learn of the loss of a kayaker at Wood Island off Biddeford Poole last Tuesday evening. It is a notoriously rough area, what with the Saco River ebb current et al, and on top of that it was blowing 22 knots with higher gusts. Those who go out to play in such conditions lower the odds.
