Raccoon Cove, Frenchman Bay Mon, 08 January 2007 09:30 Go to previous message
I saw this place highlighted on that TV show "Dirty Jobs" on the Discovery Channel the other night. (They were digging for blood worms) I was curious where it was so I pulled out my charting software and found it. Has anyone ever been in there?

It's on at the north end of Frenchman Bay, about even with but west of Sorrento. According to the chart it looks like though it clearly is mostly dry at low tide, there is a small area that charts to 8-12 feet. Is that area full of moorings? Can one anchor there?

We were curious as we are planning to spend some time on that side of MDI this year on our cruise. So in a related question: where else do people like to visit in Frenchman Bay? Sorrento of course, and I suppose Bar Harbor, though I've never liked that town by lands...
