Seguin Island

After many disappointing trips to Seguin Island in recent years when we found the moorings all taken, we tried again on 6/7. Our persistence paid off as the little harbor was empty. The additional moorings were not yet in and, in fact, one of the three had broken away so they were down to two plus the two Coast Guard moorings that you can't use.
We took our dinghy ashore and were met by the new lighhouse keeper, Mike Boisen, who helped us secure it and then took us up to the light to meet his wife Marilyn. We got plenty of chat and info, toured the museum and then went up the tower and around the outside walkway at the top of the tower. What a view. When it isn't foggy, you can see the White Mountains, Monhegan Island, etc.
They're a wonderful couple and it's a great tour. We have been there in prior years, but with the repairs that have been made by the Friends of Seguin, you can do much more than walk the beautiful grounds. It's an easy cruise and great take for Casco Bay boaters and those visiting the area.
