Where are the flounder? Wed, 13 November 2002 11:05 Go to previous message

Here along the Piscataqua river and Great Bay on the New Hampshire / Maine border flounder seem to have recovered after being nearly gone during the '70s.

When I was a kid in the '60s, it was easy to row out and catch a dozen big flounder in no time at all. My older brother used to snorkle and spear them.

Every year when I cruise the coast I fish for flounder and in over ten years of cruises have yet to catch one flounder in Maine.

So, when was the last time anyone has caught a flounder on the coast of Maine and where? (Besides Kittery)
