RE: Port Clyde
Be aware when docking at the fueling dock of four things: first use extreme caution when the wind is gusting off the dock; second, use extra caution to try to observe the current running; and the third is that this narrow entrance channel has large rock rip rap opposite the dock that make paying attention to the first and second cautions imperative.
I didn't, because it looks so innoculous, and ran the stern into the rip rap when an attendent heartily yanked on my bow line pulling my bow into the dock and twisting my stern out which, coupled with the wind and current coming off the dock effecting only my stern, due to the state of the tide, made for an expensive navigation lesson. The holes in my hull darn near penetrated but luckily did not or I would have sunk right there.
The fourth thing is that the fuel hose is very short and you must make the landing mid way up the floats for it to reach your boat. Incidentally, that is the narrowist point of the channel.
