Hermit Island Marina

I'm curious to know if anyone has moored at the Hermit Island Campsite Marina. I have friends camping there next summer and wondered if we could visit them in our 34 foot sailboat. The web site offered little help and no one has returned our calls. They seem very reluctant to welcome any 'visitors'.
Sorry not to have gotten back sooner about this. We have taken our 35', 5'-draft sailboat into Cape Small Harbor, inside Hermit Island. The entrance is tricky, and most of the deep water is occupied with moorings. We managed to anchor on very short scope.
The number we have for Hermit Island Campground is 207-443-2101. You might also try Robert Stevens Boatbuilder at 207-389-1794. He runs the small boatyard and floats at Hermit Island and may have room for your friends on his docks.
