Emergency rooms have greater supplies of intravenous fluids, oxygen, and medication. Physcians need to rule out numerous possible conditions or illnesses, and the location, operating hours, or status of hyperbaric chambers may change.
In the event of a diving accident or emergency, monitor the injured diver's airway, breathing, and circulation. Call the local EMS to transport the diver to medical care.
