The Maine COAST GUIDE for Small Boats

A series of regional guides to coastal access and shallow-draft exploration along the Maine coast and its tidal rivers and estuaries.

This new series of seven regional guides is our work-in-progress. Each Maine Coast Guide pinpoints launching facilities, waterfront and shoreside access, and opportunities of shallow-draft exploration along the coast and up tidal rivers, creeks, and marshes. It sketches the history of almost every geographical feature, from the struggles of early settlers to shipwrecks, mysteries, and legends along the coast. These guides are for anyone who loves this magnificent coast, from hardy sea kayakers planning an expedition to picnickers in their Boston Whalers looking for a sandy beach, from coastal cottage owners to those intrepid yachtsmen who have discovered that exploration by dinghy can be as rewarding as an ocean passage.

The Casco Bay volume is now available in a 6"x9" softcover, 288 pages, 130 charts, indexed. $17.95 +2.50 S&H, ME residents please add $0.90 tax. Research for the other regions is ongoing.
